A large hospitality and entertainment business in Singapore appointed Singapore Offshore Services to design and build an Online Realtime Point of Sale (POS) system.

Features of the System:

• Front end with links to Handheld devices including PDA’s
• Linked to centralised stock and pricing database
• Flexibility for online and offline modules
• Front end real time reporting of sales during working hours
• Back end reporting of operations across multiple outlets
• Centralised database and server
• Individual outlet reporting and consolidated group reporting

Solution Provided

• Developed a bespoke Point of Sales system linked with inventory control, reporting and CMS
• Technology used was Opensource PHP together with Java database
• Transformed the manual business process into an online POS system to allow users to:
  • Access front end in both online and offline mode
  • Access standard stock and pricing data via a centralised server
  • Real Time Sales Reporting
  • Real Time Stock Reporting
  • Link to Individual Outlet or Group Customer Database, with feature to add loyalty and discount schemes
  • Real Time other Operational reporting including:
    • Discounts/Refunds Provided (overall and by Outlet and Employee)
    • Entertainment Provided (overall and by Outlet and Employee
    • Itemised Sales Reports by Outlet/Employees
    • Accounting and Taxation
